
After the world war 2 he begun racing with a Maserati. Formula One regulations were introduced by the FIA in 1946, with the aim of eventually replacing the pre-war Grand Prix structure. The next four years Ascari was at the top of his game, winning numerous events around Europe.He won the first grand prix ni Sanremo,Italy in 1948. His biggest success came when he joined Ferreri.Ferrari made her debut in Mnte Carlo with Ascari winning the 2nd place there and another 2nd place afterwards in Monza. However he was only 5th in the championship that year.He won his first world champion title in 1952,while runner up was Juan Manuel Fangio.
With success in Europe, Enzo Ferrari supplied a car for Ascari in the Indianapolis 500. He was the only European driver to race there. But his race ended after 40 laps. That was the only race Ascari didn't win that year. Ascari dominated in 1952,winning all six European races and recording the fastest lap in each one of them.
Next year he won the first three races and counting the previous six wins last year, he had a streak of nine wins which ended in France where he finished 4th.He on two more races later in the year and won the world champion title once again.During his career he won 13
grand prix out of 33. Alberto Ascari was killed in an accident in Monza were he was testing a Ferreri car, in May 26,1955.The corner where the accident happened, renamed in his honor, no longer exists,
having been replaced with a chicane, the Variante Ascari.
