Mark Gene, Ferrari’s test driver is concerned about the possibility of Renault hiding its true potential.

McLaren and Ferrari have been on top during the winter tests, with Renault struggling to get into top six places. Alonso’s pace has often been over half a second off the top. However, Gene thinks that Renault might be hiding its true potential and this is something that must be taken under consideration instead of counting the team out.

“We will see what happens with Fernando and whether the surprise at the Australian GP comes for Renault” he said.
“They might have not been on top during the tests, but they have been working on their current car since last April. Perhaps we are seeing a wolf in sheep's clothing and Fernando will be in front”, he added.

Mark Gene also talked about his team’s current challenger F2008 which, according to him, can win both titles again in 2008. There is less pressure this year in the team and the atmosphere has improved.
