Williams new challenger presentation delayed

Williams – Toyota’s new racing car, FW30 will be presented one week later than expected. The plan said that the new car was about to be presented on January 14th 2008, during the test in Jerez, Spain.

“We have been under time pressure since the beginning. We have chosen not to hurry with our new car and wait a little more until its first test. This first test will take place during the next testing session in Valencia”, Sam Michael, technical director of the team, said.

However, during the tests in Jerez, there will be some new components tested. One of them is the new gearbox, which will be the same as the one Toyota will be using for 2008. We have to remind you that for the new season, gearboxes will have to last for four races.

“This won’t be a problem. We have already installed the new transmission system to our previous car”, Sam Michael added.
