Double world champion Mika Hakkinen spoke about the Singapore night race, saying that it would be a great challenge for all drivers, and the matter of safety there, can be achieved with preparation. The Finn said that testing there would be expensive and difficult to organize, but "If the lighting system and all the organization here in Singapore is at a top, top level, I don't think testing is necessary," he said.

He also said that driving at night will be a unique challenge for all drivers there, "When driving at night your body is in night mode, so all your reactions are not as sharp as in the daytime, because your body should be sleeping," he said.

The Singapore Grand Prix will take place on september 28th, but drivers have already voiced concerns about driving in the Singapore streets at night, without testing.
