Kovalainen made the fastest lap in the third and final day of testing in Jerez, driving the new MP4-23. The Finn made a fastest lap 1:17.974 seconds in 96 laps. Lewis Hamilton was fourth fastest with the other McLaren.

RedBull gave an impressive performance with David Coulthard this time making a lap of 1:18.485 seconds, that placed him second in the time sheets. Kazuki Nakajima continued giving impressive performances as he was third fastest, with a 1:19.117 seconds after completing 90 laps in the 4.428 km circuit. Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld were fifth and ninth respectively. The time table was as followed:
