
Mika Salo, the driver who replaced Michael Schumacher for the last 6 races on 1999, during an interview for the Finland press, told that industrial spying is not something new for Ferrari. He claimed that on 1999 the team had managed to interfere with McLaren’s radio
frequency and was able to listen to the talking between the team and its drivers. He also mentioned that after every testing period, people from his team used to give him a piece of paper with the exact dialogue between Mika Hakinen and his mechanic. Few days later, Salo, reformed his sayings, by supporting that he was talking about 1999, when wireless communication was on its first steps and someone could hear all discussions even accidentally.
