According to Renault technical boss, Pat Symonds, Ferrari may be leading at present but they are not so far ahead. The Ferrari team seems to be able to dominate the 2008 season after a record-breaking testing in Bahrain, but according to Symonds this test should not be overestimated.

"We are in the group that is behind Ferrari.I t seems as though they are ahead of everyone else, but I don't think they are as superior as they seemed to be in Bahrain. Until you can make a direct comparison with your rivals, you can never have a clear idea," Symonds said. Double world champion Fernando Alonso though believes that it is going to be hard for Ranault to win podiums, at least at the beggining of the season.
