Williams had the chance to sign young British, Lewis Hamilton, back in 2004, when he was racing in formula three, but missed their chance because of their engine provider BMW. The co-founder of the team, Patrick Head, said that Hamilton visited them, during his formula three programme, after McLaren rejected him. "They rang up and said 'can we come and see you?'," Head said. "And they came in and said Ron Dennis has dropped us'".

Alonso believes Hamilton may win the championship
Lewis Hamilton may be crowned the new formula one world champion this season according to his former teammate Fernando Alonso. Lewis Hamilton made an impressive rookie season last year, after leading the championship for more than half of the season and finally lost it for one point to Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen.
All eyes on Jarno Trulli on the third day in Barcelona

Lewis Hamilton continued the impressive performance on the second day of the last pre-season test in Barcelona. But it was not Hamilton in the first place on the third day of testing. Jarno Trulli gave an impressive performance by making the fastest lap with 1:20.801 after completing 83 laps, while Lewis Hamilton was 10th. The Italian proved that Toyota made a big improvement just two weeks before the start of the season in Australia, although these times may be a little misleading, as fuel loads and tyre conditions were not taken into account. But still 1:20.801 was the best time of the week and proves Toyota's progress.
Lewis Hamilton fastest at Barcelona - F1 News
Lewis Hamilton topped the timesheets in Monday's testing in Barcelona, proving that the McLarens can still challenge the Ferraris who seemed to be so far ahead a few weeks ago. Lewis Hamilton made the fastest lap with 1:22.276, after completing 78 laps in the circuit, bitting both last years world champion Kimi Raikkonen and seven times world champion Michael Schumacher, who also tested for Ferrari.
Schumacher back in action

Seven times world champion Michael Schumacher is returning to action as he is set to to test the F2008 in Bercelona next week.
Schumacher will test the new Ferrari in the start of the three day testing in Catalunia. He will also have the chance to compete with the new Ferrari world champion as Kimi Raikkonen is also testing for the team next week.
Massa is not worried - F1 News
Although Felipe Massa was outplaced by the McLarens in the last testing in Barcelona, he does not seem much worried. Before this week's testing Ferrari seemed to be way ahead of the other teams. But the McLarens proved to be competitive and manage to close the gap. Of course we can say now is probably very different from what we will see in Melbourne when the season starts.
