Vettel takes another pole for Red Bull - Great Britain qualification

Sebastian Vettel was the fastest man on track during the qualification session that took place on Saturday. Red Bull has been the fastest team, so the second driver managed to get an easy second place.

The only two drivers that managed to end the session within the same second as the leader, are Fernando Alonso who will be starting from P3, and Lewis Hamilton who will be starting from P4.

Keke Rosberg will be starting from the fifth place, outpacing Michael Schumacher once more. The German will be starting from P10, and looks like he is looking to find something lost, this season.

The qualification results are as follows :

Vettel in Pole - Valencia Qualification

Vettel managed to take the pole position after a very close battle that took place in Valencia circuit between him and his teammate Marc Webber.

Vettel managed to take the pole while running on the optional softer tyres. His teammate Marc Webber also did the same and managed to get second place. Lewis Hamilton finished the session in third place, after a small mistake caused him to loose the opportunity of separating or even beat the Red Bulls.

Lewis wins in Canada - McLaren makes 1-2

Lewis Hamilton continued being victorious for the second time in a row this season by winning the Canadian grand prix. He started from the pole and finally managed to finish first in a race that could not be decided before the final lap.

First of all we have to say that Marc Webber took a 5 places penalty due to a gearbox change on Saturday. So Lewis had Vettel, and Alonso right behind him for the start.

Hamilton and Alonso started their race on soft tyres, while the two Red Bulls started on the harder component. The soft tyres lasted for only 7 - 8 laps, making the Red Bull's choice look the right one. Generally, we have seen great tyre wear during the race, which makes us wonder if the tyre component selection has been the appropriate one. We think that Bridgestone should bring a step harder components for this track.

Hamilton takes the pole in Canada

Lewis Hamilton managed to grab the pole position in Canada, by making the fastest lap with an edge of 0.268sec, leaving the two Red Bulls in second and third place. He managed to do so in his final lap, after crossing the finish line just in time for another lap.

Marc Webber was once more faster than his teammate Sebastian Vettel, while Fernando Alonso took fourth place in what seems to be a comeback for Ferrari. Button was fifth, while Liuzzi impressed everyone with his Force India by taking sixth place. The Indian team seems to be in great shape and is improving constantly. Massa and Kubica followed while the second Force India also managed to be in the top ten ant took P9 with Sutil. Rosberg was the last of the top ten.

Max Mosley supports Vettel - F1 News

Max Mosley, Former FIA president supported Vettel, regarding the accident that took place during the Turkish Grand Prix last weekend. Sebastian Vettel had tried to overtake his teammate Marc Webber, but this try ended up in a collision of the two.

"From my perspective, I do not think that Sebastian Vettel should be given the blame for the collision. He at that stage had the right and duty to overtake Webber." Mosley told Motorsport Magazin.

From our point of view, Sebastian Vettel was on the left side of the track, and Marc Webber knew that he had to move to the right in order to have a chance of braking properly. He gave no room to his young teammate, although he knew he was faster than him, with the two McLarens chasing both of them closely.

Conclusions after the Turkish GP

The Turkish race may have had some surprising incidents, but apart from them it has been a boring race. And this is because, although many teams started the season with promising results, there are only two teams that, as it looks, will be fighting for the championship.

After the end of the Turkish F1 Grand Prix it is obvious that Red Bull Racing and McLaren have the quickest cars. And they are quickest by far. Red Bull is in a slightly better position, but continuous mechanical failures (previous races) or some foolish driving mistakes, prevented the team from scoring more points and take an easy lead in the championship.

On the other hand, McLaren has made a big step forward, especially by fully utilizing the F-Duct system on its cars. Also the team's drivers, especially Button, help very much by driving steadily fast. A problem that has to be taken care of is Hamilton and his behavior against his tyres.

Hamilton breaks the streak in Turkey - F1 News

We have watched a great race today in Turkey, which ended with Hamilton on top.

Marc Webber started from the pole and managed to stay in first place for the biggest part of the race. However, this time, staying there has not been an easy task for him. Lewis Hamilton put a lot of pressure on him during the first part of the race until the pit stops. After the pit stops took place the positioning changed a bit on top, with Webber on the lead, Sebastian Vettel in second and Lewis Hamilton in third place, followed by his fast teammate Jenson Button.

During the pit stop, Marc Webber gained almost 2sec against Hamilton, due to a problem in the rear right wheel of the McLaren. Vettel gained one more second and so Hamilton lost his place. However the battle seemed to have just started, as all four of them were racing at the same pace, about a second faster than the pace of the second group of drivers led by Michael Schumacher.
