Hamilton wins in Spa 2010 - F1 News

The race started on dry track. Marc Webber, from pole, "forgot" to start and the result was him loosing 6 places. Lewis Hamilton took advantage of this and took the first place, with Jenson Button being second after the first lap.

A few minutes later some rain drops appeared, causing many drivers to loose the braking point for the bus stop chicane. One of them has been Rubens Barichello, who crashed on Fernando Alonso, and ended his 300th anniversary race.

The Spaniard took a risk and immediately switched to intermediate tyres, while the safety Car entered the track the very next lap. It seemed good for him, provided that the raind would have continued. But it did not. He switched again to the hard component and re-entered the track in the last places.

Webber in pole - Spa has decided

Marc Webber won another pole with his Red Bull today. The unpredicted weather conditions that are very usual in Spa, appeared again and played a role on the outcome.

Weather has been changing the whole time since the beginning of the qualification. By the end the sun came out, but only for a while. Webber managed to make his fastest lap during the sunshine, while the raindrops that started dropping few moments later, prevented anyone else from making a fastest time.

However Lewis Hamilton lost the pole by only 0.085sec showing that McLaren is having a very fast car, and that Red Bull will not have an easy weekend.

On the other hand the two Ferrari drivers were left behind, with Massa being faster than his team-mate, Fernando Alonso, who has been placed 10th.

Webber wins in Hungary and gets back on the lead - F1 News

Webber was the winner of the Hungarian grand prix. Starting from second place, and having lost his place after the start, this was a great result the put him on the lead of the championship as we head into the summer brake.

After the lights went off for the race start, Sebastian Vettel managed to turn first at the first corner. Behind him Fernando Alonso overtook Marc Webber for P2, while an incredible Vitaly Petrov, took advantage of Hamilton being stuck between Massa and Webber and overtook the Briton for P4.

Vettel in pole, Red Bull in front row, in Budapest

Sebastian Vettel dominated the qualifying session today in Budapest, winning the pole position with 1:18.773 seconds, finishing 4 tenths of a second ahead of his teamate Mark Webber who took the 2nd place. The RedBulls were unstopable and manage to start from the first row without serious difficulty, as Fernando Alonso who came in 3rd place behind the RedBulls was 8 tenths of a second behind Mark Webber. The strategy each team will follow tommorow in the race though, ramains unknown.

Alonso wins in Germany - Massa comes second due to team orders

The race started normally, with no sign of rain at all. The weather has been clear during the whole racing session. All top ten drivers plus Schumacher on 11th place of the grid, started their race on soft tyres.

Right on the start, Sebastian Vettel made one of his usual mistakes. After a bad start, he tried to block Fernando Alonso, leaving all the way in front of Felipe Massa clear. As a result, he lost his first place to the Brazilian, and also second place to Fernando Alonso after he run wide on turn one.

Lewis Hamilton took advantage of the confusion during turn one and passed his teammate for P5. A few moments later he also passed Marc Webber, to take P4.

Vettel takes another pole - Germany qualification

Sebastian Vettel will be starting from the pole, once more during this season, tomorrow. Although Fernando Alonso seemed to be pretty quick, he lost the pole to the German for just 0.002sec.

Felipe Massa had a very good session after a long time and took third, in front of Marc Webber Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton.

The rain did not show up during the qualification and the weather has been pretty cool with an air temperature of 20oC and track temperature at 24oC.

After the end of the session we can see that Ferrari had it's best performance for this season, while Mercedes seems to be falling back after a good first half of the year. Williams looks in good shape, having both its drivers in the top ten, with Barichello 8th and Hulkenberg in 10th place.

Webber wins in Britain - Silverstone Grand Prix

Marc Webber was the winner of the British race today. After a great start that put him on the lead, he made a perfect race, controlling his follower, Lewis Hamilton during the whole grand prix.

Right after the start, Vettel spinned and lost his place to his teammate. Alonso also had a terrible start and lost a few places as a result. Marc Webber and Lewis Hamilton pulled off and looked as if they are in a different race. No one managed to threaten those two and all interest moved behind them, in the battle for the remaining, point awarding places.
