Button wins again in Bahrain as Toyota managed to lose - F1 News

Despite the fact that Toyota and Red Bull racing had proven their speed during the past day, Jenson Button managed to win again in Bahrain this Sunday.

Jarno Trulli lost his first place just as the race started as his teammate, Timo Glock overtook him on turn 1. The battles have been many and consistent as Lewis took P2 during the second lap. He lost his place soon after that, as he ran wide on lap 3. Further behind, Vettel, Raikkonen, Barichello and Alonso had their moments overtaking eachother.

The first lap ended with Glock, Trulli, Hamilton, Button, Vettel, Barrichello, Raikkonen, Alonso, Massa and Rosberg leading the way.

All seemed to go well for the fans of a thrilling championship, until the time for the first pit stops came. Toyota had its drivers pit in first, as expected, but although they had built a difference, the tyre choice had been disastrous. The hard component that Toyota had chosen for the second stint was much slower than the softer one. As a result Alonso passed Trulli on lap 14 Glock fell further behind and both Toyota drivers were left fighting in track with no ammo.

Button took the chance and managed to use his car's speed and correct pit timing to take the lead. Jarno Trulli took third with Vettel in second place. Timo Glock only managed to take 5th while Ferrari got its first points with Kimi Raikkonen in 6th place.
