So here we are again after a long break. Even though we were well informed of the winter testings, we couldn't have predicted what happened today.
The qualification session of the Australian f1 race took place a few hours earlier today. It seems that the new regulations have managed to change the status quo in formula 1 racing. Brown's cars (former Honda) were the quickest on track and locked the first line on the grid, with Jenson Button being first and Rubens Barichello following 0.3sec behind.
Red Bull also showed remarkable speed, with Vettel, who took third position on the grid. Williams took fifth with N. Rosberg just behind Kubica who has been placed fourth with his BMW.
So where are the Ferrari and the McLaren cars? Massa managed to qualify just 7th behind T. Glock with his Toyota, leaving K. Raikkonen 9th behind the second Toyota driven by J. Trulli. The McLaren team had a bad qualification, far away from what the team had been used to in the past. Kovalainen took 14th place and Hamilton 15th, and they are probably off the chase of a good result tomorrow.
for tomorrow we expect a great race to take place, with new teams fight for victory, something that will bring new interest to the 2009 F1 championship. We will return with the race results tomorrow and some comments on what to expect for this season.
