Third consecutive pole for Massa in Turkey

Massa took another pole position in Turkey, the third in a row. He had done it also in 2006 and 2007, when he had also won the race afterwards.

However this weekend, the qualification showed an improvement for the McLaren team as its drivers managed to drive faster than the other Ferrari driver, the world champion, Kimi Raikkonen, with Kovalainen being faster than his teammate, Lewis Hamilton, who couldn't avoid mistakes once more. Kubica and Webber completed the top six places.

Super Aguri did not take part in this qualification session so the eliminating cars has been 5 during each session as opposed to 6 until the last race.
