Sebastian Vettel is once again the winner of the European grand prix, completing 6 victories out of 8 races. The German started his race from the pole and completed the race in first place, without having any problem staying there for the whole race.
Right after the red lights went off, Vettel turned first, while behind him, Lewis Hamilton lost his place to both Alonso and Massa. Webber managed to stay in second and found himself under heavy pressure from Alonso. The Spaniard was thirsty for a good result, in his country, in front of his fans. He made the move of the race on lap 21 and passed Webber for the second place. A bit earlier Hamilton managed to pass Massa for the fourth place, as Ferrari's mechanics had a problem changing Massa's rear left tyre during his first pit, causing him to lose time.
Alonso had no problem keeping Webber behind him and seemed capable of matching Vettel's pace. However his team made the wrong decision during their second stop and called him a lap after Webber. The Australian got ahead of Alonso until the third pit stop round. It was at that point, where Alonso stayed out a couple more laps than the Australian and regained the second place.
All this time nothing happened with Vettel. He broke the lap record whenever he felt like it and he had total control over his rivals. The race flowed like this, we have seen only a few passing maneuvers and no retirement which could change the result. The most boring race of the season has come to an end and we are waiting for the next race in England with a hope of something changing for the better, after restrictions on engine mapping during the weekend.
