Jenson Button won the pole once again, in Monaco while his teammate Rubens Barrichello got the 3rd place. Surprisingly the Ferrari's did well in Saturday's qualifying session. Kimi Raikkonen got the 2nd place just 0.2 tenths of a second behind Jenson Button. Teammate Felipe Massa finished in 5th place.

RedBull's Sebastian Vettel got the 4th place and Nico Rosberg the 6th behind Ferrari's Felipe Massa. A big surprise came from Heikki Kovalainen and Kazuki Nakajima who qualified in the Q3, finishing in the 7th adn 10th position respectively. Mark Webber in 8th place and Fernando Alonso in 9th completed the first ten. The Toyota's where disappointing as they got the 19th place with Jarno Trulli and the 20th Timo Glock. The BMW's got the 17th place with nick Heidfeld and 18th with Robert Kubica. Lewis Hamilton was 16th and did not qualify in Q2.
