A very good race with many incidents took place in Silverstone today. Lewis Hamilton was the winner of this race as he took his first victory in his country, finishing more than a minute ahead from second Nick Heidfeld. Heidfeld made a surprise by taking the second place but Rubens Barichello left everybody speechless by taking the third place and his first podium with Honda.
Lewis Hamilton made a fantastic start as he immediately took the second place even though he was starting fourth. After a few laps he also took the first place and never lost it till the end. Kimi Raikkonen lost a lot of time due to a wrong strategy from the team. During his first pit stop he did not change tyres, as the team thought it would be better to go on with the old ones. This was disastrous for the Finn as he lost too much valuable time, and luckily managed to finish fourth in the end. A very good performance again by BMW, as Nick Heidfeld took the second place after a fantastic race. He made a double pass, as he passed both Timo Glock and Fernando Alonso at the same time, and he repeated this a few laps afte, by overtaking both Finns , Kimi Raikkonen and Heikki Kovalainen at the same time also. Robert Kubica got to the third place from the 10th, but lost the control of the car and unfortunately for him he retired from the race.
Felipe Massa had a very bad race as he could not keep his Ferrari in the circuit, probably due to the rain. He kept going out of the circuit time after time and finally finished his race in last place, which was 13th as the rest of the drivers retired from the race. Ross Brown made his magic tricks again, took the risk and gave Rubens Barichello the right tyres at the right time, which gave him a place in the podium. A feat which was very impressive.
Fernando Alonso came in 6th place with Trulli and Nakajima folllowing in 7th and 8th place respectivelly. Webber had a very bad start, as he could not take advantage of his first line starting. He lost his place in the beggining and lost control of his car after that which put him out of the points.
