Massa, unstoppable in Istanbul - F1 News

Ferrari's Felipe Massa, was the winner of the Turkish grand prix again, showing that he is unstoppable in this circuit as he won three races in Istambul out of the seven wins of his career. The Ferrari's made the 1-3, as last year's champion Kimi Raikkonen came in 3rd place, being the only driver this season that scored points in all of the five races. Lewis Hamilton gave a good race, finishing 2nd, 3.7 seconds behind Felipe Massa. His McLaren could not be that fast with the soft tyres, so he followed a three pit-stop strategy, going for most of the race with the hard tyres, and only in the last 13 laps, he changed his tyres to soft.

The Brazilian Felipe Massa responded to all those who criticized his bad start, at the first two races of the season, making a fantastic "come back" after that, and winning the Turkish grand prix, as he always does. The Brazilian stated humorously "I think I can get a passport here already," after in was suggested that the Brazilian could change his nationality. Robert Kubica was 4th with his BMW, trying also to reach the top in the table, as he also made a very good start in this season.

Double world champion Fernando Alonso was 6th, gaining some more points. Australian Mark Webber came 7th as Nico Rosberg took the last point, finishing in 8th place. Heikki Kovalainen may have won the second place in the qualifying session, which was the best result in his career, but unfortunately had a conflict with Kimi Raikkonen which coused him to change his strategy and make an early pit stop in the 2nd lap of the race. This was the end of the race for him as he hardly managed to finish 12th.

Rubens Barrichello broke the record of the driver with the most appearances, finishing in his 257th race, in Turkey, 14th.

Kimi Raikkonen is now leading the championship with 35 points, ahead of Felipe Massa and Lewis Hamilton who share the second place with 28 points.
