Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel won the pole once again, in the Chinese Qualifying session. This is his 3rd pole this season out of four races, plus Red Bull team has four out of four poles this season. Teammate Mark Webber will start in 2nd place in the Chinese Grand prix, as he finished 2.5 tenths behind Sebastian Vettel. Ferrari's Fernando Alonso took the 3rd place an with Nico Rosberg they fill the second row.

Last year's champion Jenson Button was 5th just half a tenth of a second behind Rosberg. His teamate Lewis Hamilton was finished behind Button, also with just half a tenth gap. Felipe Massa was 7th with Renaults Robert Kubica in 8th place. Michael Schumacher in 9th place and Adrian Sutil in 10th place completed the first ten.
