Red Bull's Mark Webber won his first 2011 Grand Prix, in the last race of the championship, in Iterlagos, Brazil, as his teammate Sebastian Vettel won his second Formula One World Championship and Red Bull won the constructors' championship. Vettel made a great start from the pole position but he ould not hold the 1st place due to a gearbox problem. Mark Webber bypassed him on the 40th lap keeping that place until the end of the race and taking his first 2011 victory. Sebastian Vettel did not lose anymore positions and finished in 2nd place. Jenson Button finished 3rd resulting in keeping the 2nd place in the 2011 championship. However Fernando Alonso could not keep his 3rd place in the standings, as he finished 4th, while Webber who won the GP, bypassed him for 1 point in the board.
Lewis Hamilton was 5th before he had to retire from the race due to a transmission problem, on lap47. Felipe Massa finished in 5th place due to that. Adrian Sutil gave an excelent performance an finished in 6th place while his teammate Paul di Resta finished in 8th place, giving Force India a great result and bringing the team just 6 points behind Renault in the constructors championship. Mercedes' Nico Rosberg finished in 7th place, while his teamate Michael Schumacher finished in 15th place. In the drivers championship Nico Rosberg finished in 7th place with 89 points, 13 points ahead of his teammate Michael Schumacher who finished in 8th place with 76 points.
